Located in the very centre of Central America, Honduras is a country that shows off its natural beauty. Endless forests meet lonely roads. Some people even refer to Honduras as the “green lang” of Central America. Some of the lush mountain ranges are dedicated to the sweet and nutty Honduran coffee that we have and love so much. In the westernmost part of Honduras, near the borders of El Salvador and Guatemala, coffee is grown in the San Marcos area. There are several volcanoes in the area which create ideal conditions for growing coffee. Healthy soils nourish the hillside plots where farmers grow coffee, plantains (small bananas), corn, beans, and other crops.
