Mr. Antonio Francischini is 86 years old and has several coffee farms, a total of 90 million coffee tree plantations. It is one of the largest coffee producers in Brazil. In normal years, his average production is about 500 to 700 thousand 60 kg bags, considering all his farms. He had some coffee farms in the state of Paraná, a region of Brazil that stretches to the south, and right now he’s changing to soybeans and corn, because of the extremely complicated conditions for growing coffee there. And today he grows coffee in the Minas Gerais and Bahia region. As a child, he was a bus cashier, then became a bus driver, and later a small coffee farmer with only a few coffee trees planted. Today, he is a benchmark in coffee culture due to his extensive experience. He is known as the coffee baron of the 21st century. People in Brazil call him the King of Coffee (in Portuguese: Rei do Café), because of his knowledge, productivity and quality.
