Situated right at the heart of Central America, Honduras is a country that showcases its natural beauty. Endless forests meet lonely roads. Some people even call Honduras the „green lung“ of Central America. Some of the lush mountain ranges are home to the sweet, nutty Honduran coffee that we have and love so much. In the westernmost part of Honduras, near the borders with El Salvador and Guatemala, coffee is grown in the area around the town of San Marcos. The region is home to several volcanoes, which create ideal conditions for coffee cultivation. The fertile soils nourish the plots on the slopes, where farmers grow coffee, bananas, plantains (small bananas), maize, beans and other crops.
